Dr. Abigael San (D.Clin.Psy, MSc, BSc [Hons]) is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist.  She holds a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from University College London, a masters degree in addictions from the Institute of Psychiatry and an undergraduate degree in psychology from Goldsmiths College, University of London.  She currently works at Chase Farm Hospital, has a private cognitive-behavioural therapy practice in North London and is a partner in Addiction Therapies Ltd, an organisation set up to offer treatment, training and consultancy in Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) to clients, professionals and organizations working with problems relating to gambling and other addictions.

Abigael has special interests in addictions, challenging behaviour and forensic psychology.  Her doctoral thesis investigated shame, guilt and empathy in sex offenders and Abigael has presented research and lectures on various topics such as professional boundaries, psychosis, and self-conscious emotions in forensic populations at hospitals and universities nationally. 

Prior to her current post in learning disability, Abigael worked extensively in broad areas of mental health including substance abuse, pain management and dementia.  Abigael has worked with children, adults, older adults and offenders in an individual and group format and has skills in the management of the broad spectrum of mental health problems including anxiety, depression, psychosis and personality disorder.  She works both independently and within a multidisciplinary team and regularly provides consultation to other health professionals and media organisations on psychological issues. 

Dr San is a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) no. 079401.
